Ground Turkey Kebob with Zahtar Yogurt Sauce

Serves: 4, Prep time: 15 minutes, Cook time: 15 minutes


For the Kebobs:

1 lb ground turkey (or ground chicken)

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley

2 tablespoons finely chopped cilantro

1 large clove minced garlic

1/2 teaspoon Sumac

1/2 teaspoon paprika

2 teaspoons Ras El Hanout

Juice of 1/2 lemon

Salt and pepper to taste

Wood or metal skewers for cooking 

For the Yogurt Sauce:

1 cup plain yogurt

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil

1 teaspoon Zahtar

Salt and pepper to taste


1. Mix all ingredients together with a spoon until evenly mixed. Meat mixture can be refrigerated up to 24 hours.

2. Use hand to form long cigar-shaped kebabs on skewers.

3. Cook them on preheated lightly oiled grill pan on medium-high heat. Turn every 2 minutes until cooked through, 6-10 minutes. 

4. For the yogurt sauce, combine all ingredients in a small bowl and season with salt and pepper to taste. 

5. Serve on skewers with the yogurt sauce as a dip. Pairs well with rice or vegetable side dishes.
